Hi

I love the Planestate screensaver, so thank you for you great work!

As I have now sacked my old Xbox and built a HTPC with XBMC installed I would love to still be able to use your planestate as my screensaver.

Sadly it has to be ported, and no one seems to be working on it.

Do you think that this is something you can and have the time to do?

I believe it has to be ported to OpenGL/SDL.

Thanks for those nice words.

I have actually done the same as you. That is, stopped using the old Xbox and I have taken a quick look on the XBMC for windows. I doubt I will port the old screensavers to the new platform. However I will try to make the new screensaver I'm working on function as a XBMC screensaver. Currently it uses opengl but I will primary focus on DirectX 10 but the opengl part will still exists so all can use it. Because of that it should hopefully be fairly easy to port to XBMC once they finalize their screensaver API.

Now all I need is the time and specially inspiration to finish the new screensaver. It will take a while though specially for the XBMC porting. I have the intention of making it work as a Winamp plugin also so I'm not sure how I will prioritize that. ie winamp plugin first or work as XBMC screensaver first.

Cheers
Joakim E.

Thank you for your quick response.

Sounds nice! I hope that they can finalize the screensaver API soon and that you then prioritize XBMC over winamp :)

I've been looking at similar - a "cheap" XBOX to run XBMC an use as an extender.

My understanding is that it wouldn't work as an extender with XBMC (i.e. wouldn;t get the MCE interface, and be able to watch live TV, use the guide, etc), but you could load up the MS Extender software if you could find a copy.
